The annual Sheringham Scira Viking Festival and Parade is a great day of family fun which happens annually throughout the town and onto the beach in Sheringham. The name 'Sheringham' is thought to have evolved from old Norse and is thought to mean 'The home of Scira's people'. Some of the events that you can experience on the day include:
- Re-enactments of Viking battles;
- Viking battle on the Leas;
- Torchlight parade;
- Viking Boat Burning;
- Viking displays and workshops;
- Shield Painting and Sword Making;
- Crafts, face painting
- and many more events and activities
